Kenny Parr (Croydon RC) and Lina Jones (Bookham RC) both became British 50m rifle champions at the National Small Bore Rifle Association British International 50 metre Rifle Championships, held on the Malcolm Cooper range at Bisley Camp, Surrey, on 8th and 9th June 2013.

Kenny pulled off an impressive double, with an outright win in both the Accuracy International Men’s Three Positions Rifle Match and the London & Middlesex Rifle Association Men’s Prone Rifle Match; adding to his recent English championship wins in the English Small Bore Shooting Union men’s prone and air rifle disciplines. Kenny is also the reigning Mens Three Positions record holder.

Lina Jones added to her recent English championship, winning the Anschutz – Frank Dyke Women’s Prone Rifle Match by just one point from another Surrey shot, Hannah Pugsley (Chobham & District RC).

Kenny was also in the winning England Prone Rifle and Three Positions teams, and Lina and Hannah were in the winning England Women’s Prone team in the home countries matches. Hannah also represented England in the Women’s Three Positions international, who were just pipped by Scotland.

Congratulations to Kenny, Lina and Hannah.

Congratulations also go to former Surrey resident Mark Symankiewicz (Chobham & District RC) for an impressive 3rd position finish in the Men’s Three Positions qualification and 6th in the new format three position final.

All the competitions were run to international ISSF rules, with stringent equipment control, ably overseen by Surrey shooters Jon and Alison Leech and Gill Goodfellow, all of whom officiated at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The elimination and qualification rounds and finals were run to the new ISSF timing and scoring rules. All the scores can be found here.
