Coronation Shield and Cup

The Coronation Shield and Cup has been shot for by local Surrey clubs since 1953 and has
always been based on the “choose your own start” principles to provide a fun shoot for all
levels of competitors.

The competition is traditionally shoot towards the end of October and is for teams of four
shooting shoulder to shoulder at 25 yards. The Shield is for the team competition and the
Cup is for the top individual. The individual competition is normally decided by a shoot off
with competitors having scored 200 ex 200.

There is also an individual competition shot at 50m and 100y again on the “choose your own
start” system. The Goblin Cup (named after the Goblin Vacuum Factory) is for the top
individual and the Silver Jubilee Trophy (since 1977) is for the top individual aggregate of
scores at 25y 50m and 100y.

The competition this year is on Sunday 20 th October and is completed in the morning. It is
great fun and a light hearted end to the summer season. Refreshments will be available.
